Mary grew up surrounded by music, as her mother being a gifted pianist and musician greatly inspired her love for performing from a young age. Mary obtained a Bachelor of Music degree in Voice from the University of Texas at Austin, and a Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Mary has enjoyed her vast musical careers as a choir director in both church and public school, a musical stage director, a published lyricist, as a performer in both the classical and pop genres, and as a private music instructor of piano, voice, and guitar. In 2006, she married the founder of Mitchell’s Piano Gallery, the late Mitchell Foil. Mitchell Foil |Founder

1959-2023

Mitchell knew the true meaning of outstanding customer service and quality products. Every product he offered has was extensively researched to assure the optimum quality at the best values. Mitchell was a native of Winston-Salem and began his work in the piano industry in 1975. He got his start in his youth with Moxley Piano Company, which was located on 4th street in Winston-Salem. Mitchell attended Elon University and received his bachelor's degree in music. In 1985, after working at Piano & Organ Supermart in Winston-Salem, Mitchell relocated to Virginia Beach, VA to pursue his career and start his own business. While in Virginia Beach, he was co-owner of Piano & Organ Warehouse for 18 years. In July of 2002, Mitchell returned back to his hometown of Winston-Salem to open Mitchell’s Piano Gallery. Mitchell’s desire for excellence, customer service, and his joy of music were deep motivations governing his business expertise. We strive to continue these principles in his memory.
