About buying a used upright piano:
Grand Pianos range in size from 4'8" to just over 9'. Grands are measured by the length of the piano
There are 4 different sizes of upright pianos including the spinet (37"), console (42"-44"), studio (45"-47"), and full upright (48" - 52").
The taller the upright piano is, the longer the string will be giving the piano a deeper, richer tone and more resonance.
The best soundboards are made of solid spruce (sound is easily transferred through the grain of the wood).
You should have your piano tuned at least once a year
